Croutons
by Vici

Not everyone needs directions for making croutons, but I did. And in case you're not making your own - you should be. Before you throw stale bread away, think about turning it into something golden, crunchy and delicious.
I have always been lazy about making and eating salads; but having a jar full of croutons on my counter is the best incentive.

new or old bread, torn into bits
extra-virgin olive oil
salt
1 Preheat oven to 350°.

2 Fill a baking sheet with some torn bread (bite-size pieces or a little bigger). Sprinkle over a little olive oil. Sprinkle over a little salt (you don't need much). Toss the bread with your hands to distribute the oil and salt.

3 Bake approximately 30 minutes, until croutons are evenly colored to your liking. Check on them at 10 minute intervals, turning them to promote browning, and removing them as they are done.
